What’s a Kid to Read is a book review and recommendation page for parents, teachers, grandparents, anyone! As a former elementary school teacher, I’ve always seen the power in books with kids from a young age, and now as a mom I know just how vital they are to kids, and to parents who are in need of a way to start some tough conversations with their kiddos. Books are the catalyst for the best conversations and at What’s a Kid to Read I focus on sharing books that highlight acceptance, diversity, inclusion, and individuality. I believe that our bookshelves should reflect our diverse surroundings and I want to help families get a hold of the best, most inclusive books out there.
I work directly with some authors and publishers to share new and pre-releases, as well as sharing what my girls and I find on the shelves on our weekly (at least!) library hunts. I also curate book lists for those who are in need of books on a specific topic, so always feel free to reach out to me if you’re in need of something specific! I care about our kiddos, children’s literature, and our future, and those three things go hand in hand
